Caros colegas
Foi oficializada no dia de hoje a proposição do Rio de Janeiro como sede da reunião da ISPN em 2014.O colega Francisco Salomão encaminhou a devida proposta à secretária da ISPN Dra.Graciela Zuccaro. Os neurocirurgiões pediátricos brasileiros devem se sentir orgulhosos e se engajarem nessa proposta que representa uma afirmação da SBNPed no cenário internacional.

Re.: Proposal to host a future annual meeting of the ISPN (2014)
The undersigned, on behalf of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Chapter of the Federation of
Latin-American Neurosurgical Societies (FLANC), propose Brazil, as site of a future
ISPN Meeting.
Brazil possesses one of the largest neurosurgical societies in the world with a
membership exceeding two thousand neurosurgeons and their last congress was
attended by about 2,500 people. Brazil also has a strong and active Society of Pediatric
Neurosurgeons that since 1995, has been organizing regular biannual meetings attended
by more than 200 people. It goes without saying, that an ISPN Meeting held in Brazil
would motivate many of them to apply for ISPN membership.
Brazil has hosted only one ISPN Meeting, and that was more than thirty years ago, in
Guarujá (São Paulo), there having been only two other similar events in South America:
1995 in Santiago (Chile), and 2004 in Buenos Aires (Argentina).
Brazil is one of the largest economies in the World and is a politically stable country.
